Be8 takes Brazilian biofuel to Germany and proves performance in tests with European truck

Be8 conducted tests in Germany with a European Mercedes-Benz Actros truck fueled with the Be8 BeVant® biofuel, which showed performance equivalent to the B7 fossil diesel used in the European market.

The trials were conducted at Daimler Truck’s proving ground in Wörth am Rhein and included engine bench tests, dynamometer testing and on‑track drivability evaluations. The vehicle assessed was an Actros 1853, a model with a robust configuration that made it possible to validate the biofuel’s behaviour under real‑world operating conditions.

“Validating the use of a Brazilian biofuel in a European truck, within Daimler Truck’s testing facilities in Germany, is a milestone that shows the world that the energy transition is already a feasible reality. Be8 BeVant® proves that Brazil can lead concrete solutions to decarbonise heavy‑duty transport, with technology that is ready, scalable and competitive,” explained Be8’s president, Erasmo Carlos Battistella.

According to Mercedes‑Benz do Brasil, the results confirm what had already been observed in the country during the Sustainable Route COP30 initiative.

“The use of B100 delivers technical performance equivalent to diesel, with significant environmental benefits. Tests conducted in Germany show that the performance of the Actros fuelled with 100% biofuel was similar to that observed in Brazil, with a substantial reduction in emissions,” said Luiz Carlos Moraes, the company’s Director of Corporate Communications and Institutional Relations.

Beyond performance, the main highlight lies in the environmental impact. According to the data presented, the use of Be8 BeVant® can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 99% compared with fossil diesel. The result is in line with international emissions measurement protocols.

International spotlight at Hannover Messe

The test results were presented by Be8 during Hannover Messe 2026, the world’s largest industrial technology trade fair, which this year has Brazil as its partner country. The Actros truck fuelled with B100 is on display at the company’s stand in the Brazil Pavilion, drawing the attention of authorities and global leaders.

During the opening of the event, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visited the space to see first‑hand the technology and the results achieved with the Brazilian biofuel.

For Be8, the validation on European soil represents a strategic step forward in consolidating B100 as a viable and scalable alternative for the decarbonisation of heavy‑duty transport. “We are demonstrating, in one of the world’s most demanding markets, that Brazil has ready‑to‑deploy solutions to contribute to the global energy transition,” the company highlights.

Advancing the Energy Transition

The initiative strengthens the integration between industry, innovation and sustainability, highlighting how Brazilian technological development can scale internationally. The partnership between Be8 and Mercedes‑Benz do Brasil, combined with the tests conducted in Germany, positions the biofuel as a concrete solution to reduce emissions without compromising performance — one of the transport sector’s key challenges.

With consistent results in both Brazil and Europe, Be8 BeVant® is advancing as a strategic alternative for markets seeking to accelerate decarbonisation with solutions that are already available and economically viable.
