Schedule ESG
Be8 believes in its role of delivering sustainable value for people, businesses, and the planet. Therefore, it encourages and carries out actions to this end:
Sementinha do Futuro (Little Seeds o the Future)
The Sementinhas do Futuro Program is carried out by Be8 with 4th grade children from public and private elementary schools. In a playful and engaging way, the program aims to promote environmental awareness, turning participants into multipliers of social and environmental concepts, as well as providing students with greater knowledge about biodiesel and its importance for the environment.
Programa Ser Sustentável (Be Sustainable Program)
Used cooking oil residue is considered a high value‑added raw material for biodiesel production. The Be Sustainable Program recognizes this value and enhances its use by establishing a strategic network composed of Be8, partners, waste pickers, and the community. Click here for more information.
2SC Program
The goal of the program is to build, together with Be8’s partners, a sustainable supply chain of raw materials for the production of biofuels that meet the demands of both domestic and international markets. Learn more.
Patrulheiro Ambiental Mirim (Junior Environmental Ranger)
In 2022, as an incentive to society and to employees through campaigns and social initiatives for the donation of used cooking oil, stakeholder engagement in the collection of used cooking oil was carried out through a partnership between the Environmental Battalion of Passo Fundo and Be8, with the inclusion of the biofuels theme in Lesson 8 of the Junior Environmental Ranger Handbook. Lectures were delivered by Be8 colleagues at two schools (Helena Salton and Monteiro Lobato), in accordance with the schedule of the Junior Environmental Ranger Program, to reinforce among children the importance of proper used cooking oil collection and its potential as a sustainable raw material for biofuel production.
Ecobags solidárias (Solidarity Ecobags)
In 2022, seeking to promote circular economy practices and to value people, Be8 developed an ecobag model together with the Universidade de Passo Fundo, using repurposed uniforms from employees. The ecobags were produced by a sewing group of women associated with Cáritas Diocesana de Passo Fundo. They were distributed to Be8 employees during SIPAT and also to customers and suppliers who attended the Commercial Meeting. The same sewing group also produced keychains using leftover fabric pieces.
Aliança Empresarial (Buisness Alliance)
Be8 is part of the Business Alliance, whose purpose is to transform the innovation ecosystem of northern Rio Grande do Sul through collaboration among companies. Within this group, the company contributes to the development of environmental, social, and governance topics, as well as to initiatives such as the ESG Workshop, which help indicate pathways for improving management in this area.
Volunteering
The Solidarity Energy Volunteer Group played an active role in social campaigns. Throughout 2022, 99.25% of employees took part in the following initiatives:
